Umiak Outfitters will offer a 10% discount coupon to convention goers for their self- guided kayak river tours. They offer trips every day, but alternate between the Winooski River Trip on Mondays and Tuesdays, with Lamoille River Trips offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Prices are not listed on the web site as they are subject to change (there may be a slight increase in prices). Last years prices for river trips were as follow:
10:00am 2-mile trips $39.00 per person
12:00pm 4-hour trips $45.00 per person
2:oopm specialty trips $49:00 per person

The river Outposts are within a 20-minute drive of the convention site.

Community Sailing Center: Sailing and Paddling! The Community Sailing Center is offering a 10% discount on sailboat, canoe and kayak rentals seven days a week from 9am to 8pm! Private sailing lessons and group sailing lessons are also offered. If you are interested in booking a private or group lesson please call Jen at the Community Sailing Center a day or two in advance. All programs are open to the public (some experience required for sailboat rentals). You will receive a 10% discount on the cost of your rental with your Convention badge.
Prices have not been set for 2010, but I don't think they will change too much.
As of now the rental prices are:
$50/hour for a keelboat rental (bigger sailboat, can hold 6-8 adults), with the discount = $45/hour
$25/hour dinghy rental (smaller sailboat- holds 2-3) with discount = $22.50
$15/hour for kayak or canoe rental (we have singles and tandems- both are the same price) with the discount = $13.50
If you would like to book a group sail with a certified instructor it would cost $150/3 hours/boat (holds 6-8) adults. There is no discount because they have an instructor on board.
Private lessons are $60/hour for dinghy boats, $75/hour for keelboats, each additional person on the private lesson costs $25- again no discount because of the instruction.
